Winter Village

Objective(s):

  • The students will explore the houses, trees, and base of a model winter village
    • The students will recognize and identify that there are houses of different sizes in a village/community
    • The students will isolate a pointer finger to push a button for the lights and music in the winter village to turn on and off
    • The students will sing along with/move to the seasonal songs played by the model village

Materials:

model winter village with lights and music

moveable trees

small people figures

 

Activity:

In playing with the model winter village, the students will push a button to turn the lights on and off.  When songs are played, the students will participate in the song by singing or moving to it.  The students may choose to move the moveable trees and people to “replant” the trees and/or have the people visit the homes and shops in the village.
