Standard 2.0 Earth/Space Science (as taken from the Voluntary State curriculum)

Students will use scientific skills and processes to explain the chemical and physical interactions (i.e., natural forces and cycles, transfer of energy) of the environment, Earth, and the universe that occur over time.

Objectives

1.     Observe and describe the weather using senses.

2.     Describe qualititative changes in weather, such as temperatures, precipitation, wind, etc.

  

 Hands on materials: 

Water Misters simulate the water cycle, when used, the mist gives a tactile feel to "Evaporation."  Water misters can also me used during the daily weather report to simulate rain or fog.  Talking thermometors, tactile or braille thermometers, tactile graphics displayed on a black felt board to create a visual contrast.
