    B. Scientific Thinking

       1. Use scientific thinking as well as his senses to discover the world around him, and make comparisons

           between objects

Activity:

- Students will explore and describe a variety of tree fruits.  They will also identify the various parts of each.

- Students will cut open the fruits to explore the insides, as well as the outside using a variety of senses.

- Students will compare the various features of the fruits to identify similarities and differences.

- Lastly, the students will describe that people can bring things they need from the environment into their bodies by picking fruits off trees, washing them, cutting them and/or eating them (i.e. snack, fruit salad, etc.).

Fruits provided:

            Apples, oranges, lemons, limes, bananas, cherries, pears, grapefruits, plums, peaches, mangos and/or coconuts.
