Braille Cell on the Light Box
Objective: The children will be exposed to Braille and identify the dot numbers in the first letter of their name.
Materials
12" X 18" black construction paper
Stencil should allow for the large colored bowls
Transparent colored bowls, (red, green, yellow, and blue) from APH product
Plexiglas circles and pegs
Directions
1. Make Braille cell stencil by cutting out 6 holes in the black construction paper in the same formation as a Braille cell.
2. Hole size should match the size of the materials used (circles, bowls)
3. Laminate the paper if possible, so that the stencil lasts longer
4. Use the colored circles, bowls and/or colored pegs to create a translucent Braille cell letter
5. Put them in correct number dots on the Braille cell. Have the students make several letters
