FLORA’S BLANKET

Objective: Learn about families by reading and discussing the story “Flora’s Blanket.”
Materials: Book, stuffed rabbit, blanket, pillow
- Read the story to the children.
- Give children a chance to read Braille.
- Take turns turning the pages
- Questions to ask the child:
- What is a family:
- How many are in your family?
- How many brothers and sisters?
- Do you have a favorite blanket or object that you sleep with?
- How did Flora feel when she couldn’t find her blanket?
- Who helped her to find the blanket?
- Where did the family look to try to find the blanket?
- How do you think she felt after she found the blanket?
