In The Tall, Tall Grass

This scene from the book "In Tall, Tall Grass" was recreated in the classroom. Staff members used a variety of plants, and astroturf to bring the grassy area to life.
Students created their own lilipads during art by painting and cutting a paper plate. Many real life-like animals were added. Students had a great time hunting for and identifying the different animals in the Tall, Tall Grass.
How many red frogs can you spot?
Where is the green lizard?
What type of habitat does the Monarch Butterfly live in?
Can you tell the difference between the Tall grass and the Short grass?
Creating this area in the classroom allowed the students to explore and expand the main ideas from the story.
