Compensatory Skills

• Retell the story using small toy monkeys and a bed.  Have the child retell the story from memory
 

                                     

 

 

Independent Living Skills

• Practice dialing the phone to call the doctor

 

• Food preparation: Make monkey sandwich

Peel a banana and put it into an open hot dog roll.  Spread peanut butter over the banana and roll.

 

 

Recreation & Leisure

• Jumping on a Mat

Reenact the story with children jumping on a mat.  One is the monkey, one the doctor, and the rest are monkeys.  Each one jumps off at their turn.
