Tactile Skill: Responds differently to tactile sensations; temperature or texture

 

Materials:

  • Different textures or materials (sand paper, carpet, grass, etc.)
  • Different temperature items (refrigerator, metal, cardboard)
  • Items that vibrate (baby pull toy)

 

Procedure:

1. Expose the child to different tactile sensations, temperature, and texture.

2. Make sure to include opposite feels such as rough and smooth, hot and cold, and soft and hard. 

3. Expose the child to vibration, physical movement of their body, and movement of objects around them.
